Photos of Our Adult Chihuahuas And DNA health panels– Please note that comprehensive health testing for many small breed dogs has only become widely available in recent years. These newer screening tools are an excellent resource, particularly for breeders who are just establishing their breeding programs or acquiring new breeding stock.We have been raising and breeding dogs for over 30 years—long before these specialized health tests existed for small breeds. Over those decades, we have carefully observed many generations of our bloodlines, including great-great-great-great-grand sires and dams. That extensive history has given us valuable firsthand knowledge of the health and longevity of our lines. Now that we are approaching retirement, we have chosen not to pursue newer health screening beyond the DNA health panels shown below. These DNA panels test for dozens of serious inherited disorders, and our dogs have tested clear for the conditions included.
If we were just beginning our breeding program today, without the benefit of more than three decades of observing our own established bloodlines, we would certainly incorporate the newer health testing protocols as well.
